pastor's Welcome
Dear Friend,
Praised be Jesus Christ!
I appreciate your interest in Saint Peter School!
I'll leave it to Principal John Peters to tell you how wonderful our school is academically and how we have contributed the most National Merit Scholars in the Fox Valley. I'll leave it to Mr. Peters to tell you about our highly skilled staff, state-of-the-art facility, and class sizes, which provide a tailor-made education for every student. Mr. Peters can tell you about our top-notch sports programs and our commitment to the arts. He can share with you about forming our students with a concern for those in need and a desire for community outreach.
I want to tell you about the genuinely Catholic nature of Saint Peter School. As your priest, I promise your child will receive a deeply Catholic education. A Catholic education is much more than simply adding religion as a subject alongside math and English. As we have discovered, integrating our Catholic faith into all subjects forms students in all aspects of their humanity - spiritual, intellectual, human, and in loving and serving others - resulting in a foundational education that will serve them for life.
There will be a strong priest presence in the school. Fr. Sean Grismer and I will be around the school daily. We will get to know our students by meeting and chatting with them, praying with and for them, saying Holy Mass for them, hearing their confessions, playing with them at recess, and so on. The Pew Center for Research tells us something we've known for years: it makes quite a difference in a child's development whether or not they have a good rapport with the parish priest(s). At Saint Peter, we will make every effort to provide for your child's spiritual needs and healthy growth.
I have found in Principal John Peters a professional educator who is deeply dedicated to each student and passionate about Catholic education. He is professional and, at the same time, personable. I'm sure you will find him an asset to our community. Please feel free direct any questions you might have to him.
At the same time, my door is always open. I'd be happy to meet with you and answer any questions you might have.
Once again, thank you for your interest in our school!
May Saint Peter, the Prince of the Apostles, intercede for you to obtain peace and joy.
Prayers Always,
Fr. Browning
